RAGAM '09: An Insider's view

RAGAM once again has lived upto its well known tagline "Better than ever Before" since RAGAM '09 was not just another RAGAM, but it was the Best as well as the biggest ever Cultural Extravaganza NiTC has witnessed. The RAGAM culture have lived upto its great expectation just ike that.

The credit of this success of Ragam is always to the students of NiTC, who make and pull out a RAGAM from nowhere with their great effort. When you tell about RAGAM, its the effort of a lot of people split into a number of different committees which work restlessly during different points of time which pull off a RAGAM. Every committee has its own part and no committee can pull off a RAGAM alone. Why i tell you this is a good question. Its because throughout the four RAGAMs i have seen there has been some fight between differnet committees and people tend to think one(usually theirs) is superior than the other. The only thing people don't understand is everybody's effort is unique and important.

He, i have been diverting out of the topic , overview of RAGAM '09. I Tell ya RAGAM 09 was the best i ever witnessed. Every RAGAMi have seenhere at NiTC have been memmorable and makes you remember how much work had been done to pull off each RAGAM.

now let me start talking of RAGAM 09 or i will have to change the name of the post even ;)

RAGAM 09

About the most beautiful RAGAM, i've ever witnessed i am feeling shortage of words to express my feeling after RAGAM. so i'm really planning to resort to show someof the photos and explain the stuff. But there is a small problem when i'm talking about RAGAM. Its that i ain't really aware of the events part of it. I really don't know anything about it. Thats why i asked my co-authors of this blog to put up sonething about RAGAM as a photo blog or something. I think you people might be ableto do it. To give the outsiders view of RAGAM or at least the cultural fest part of RAGAM. You might be able to help a future participant understand what RAGAM is for them. My view of RAGAM is work oriented and is good for a future first year understand what an NiTCian should be doing about RAGAM.

This time, the RAGAM was enriched by the three proshows: 1) Shankar Mahadevan and Darshan Doshi, 2) Benny Dayal and 3) "Breathe- The Delicate Sound of Floyd" , a Pink-Floyd tribute band all theway from UK. This just meant every night there was something to enjoy and just to enjoy.

This RAGAM showcased more than 40 events spread over 4 days. It was an awesome RAGAM. Try seeing these pics to understand what RAGAM 09 was...........

Ragam '09 : Day 3

The almost final day of RAGAM. Then you will ask isn't it the last day of RAGAM. Then when you look around tomorrow you'll see some students for school quiz as well as the people working for Infrastructure. There are a lot of Accounts to be settled and all.. :)

The final day rocked like never before. It had a special topping when the NiTC team won the 1st prize for the fashion show. The crowd pullers remained "Echoos me ethu collegila", Carnival and Informals.

The life of NiTC, at the end of day 3 was different from any last day of RAGAM where you'll see all the teams leaving and the rajpath already deserted by the evening. But this time hardly anybody left before the end of fashion show.

NiTC like always came first. CET was awarded the trophy for the best outstation college and the Ragam programme part was over through list of programs leaving only school quiz for the next day. Then only the work left was wrapping up the RAGAM '09. :) which is being done now.

RAGAM 09: DAY 2

The day was simply awesome like any ther RAGAM day. But after all today was the big day with "Shankar Mahadevan" coming to rock the crowd. The events before that were also had a great turnout.

The biggest event next to Shankar's show was the Western Orchestra Finals which was opened by a performance from "Slingshot" and was judged by "Breathe". A lot of people turned out at the venue with an ambition to get two birds in a shot, to enjoy the Western orchestra as well as catch a glimpse of the Breathe band, and was satisfied. ;)

Shankar was enjoyment and excitement to the maximum and nobodyhas felt that taking that ticket worth 300 was a waste of money. Shankar managed the crowd with awesome skills. I dont have words to tell ya more. It was amazingly awesome.

Another interesting event of the day was Eastern orchestra prelims though the main crowd pullers remained "Echoos me ethu collegila", Carnival and Informals.

I had a desire to upload the pics of each day, but it seems impossible as of now. because i return to room at this time and is difficult to get the pics now. SO i
decided let the description go everyday as possible and after RAGAM we'll try to put up a Photoblog of RAGAM '09. What do ya think about it fellows?

Benny Dayal was simply awesome, the choreo nite was also good. maybe thanks to the screening using their videos. The exciement of RAGAM is just ten-fold and you ask yourself "It is just the first day of RAGAM. What will itbe then as the RAGAM progresses?"

I dont have much time left to sleep. so signing off for now.. C ya tomorrow

Here...

Its my favorite time of the college year; it's Ragam!! And it really is Ragam everyway now; all anyone cares about, the only thing on the minds of every soul on campus.
College looks amazing; the Rajapath is a riot of colors. Unfortunately I can't put up any pics right now and I must finish with this post real quick for there's a scheduled outage in 20 minutes!! So don't sulk about missing out on the pics, just go out there and see it for youself!!
The Carnival's turning out to be a runaway success; you don't have to hear it from me, you'll know the moment you get to the Rajpath and see the huge crowd around the Carrnival area; I'm yet to see what actually lies beyond that thick crowd!!
The turnout's been amazing...I realised it first thing this morning when my hostel was suddenly full of new faces and bustling with activities at seven in the morning!! And when I somehow managed to get ready and reach college, there were bags strewn all over at the end of the Rajpath and some even in the space between DB and MB: apparently the participants were so excited about the events, they didn't bother too much about their luggage, just dumped them wherever and headed off to enjoy the show!
One fantastic modification this time is shifting the 'AMPLIFIED' stage to the basketball court; now there's no need to get into the lawn in front of the library, just be anywhere on the Rajpath and amazing treat for you ears!!
And before I forget, there are more than one 'my favorite stalls', most of my favorites are here and I just can't decide which one to go for whenever I wanna eat: there's Subway as promised ;), I'd heard CCD was coming too and it's here, but what I didn't know: we also hav Baskin Robbins!! I feel like God just blessed me with all his heart!!
Ragam is simply rocking this year and everyone just can't wait for the Benny Dayal show at 6:30 pm, and I just found out there's also gonna be Anita, the pretty female from Chak De India.
I must sign off quickly for the Blogger outage might happen any minute now; but all you folks out there, whatever happens, don't miss this!!
